What does "not at fault" mean?
If another driver caused the accident (for example they ran into the back of you, ran a red light, or merged into you), you're the not-at-fault party. That means the at-fault driver's insurer is responsible for your repair costs and a replacement vehicle.
Will this really cost me nothing?
When you're not at fault and we can recover costs from the at-fault party's insurer, you pay no excess and no repair or replacement-car costs. We confirm your eligibility before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
Do I have to use my insurer's repairer?
No. In NSW you have the right to choose your own repairer. Your insurer may suggest theirs, but the choice is legally yours.
What details do I need from the other driver?
Ideally their name, phone number, licence number, registration plate, and insurer. Photos of the scene and their car help too. If you're missing some of these, call us anyway. We can often still help.
How long do repairs take?
It depends on the damage and parts availability, but we keep you in a replacement car for the entire repair, so you're never off the road.
